Short-term business statistics (STS) are the earliest statistics released by Eurostat to show emerging trends in the European economy. They are part of the European business statistics (EBS).
They provide data for
- industry
- construction
- trade
- services, excluding financial and public services
Short-term business statistics describe economic developments by means of indices for production, turnover, producer and import prices as well as for some other indicators (construction costs, labour input). STS also include quarterly indicators on business registrations and bankruptcies.
