Following a brief review of the development of the moving bubble chart Hans Rosling will take on the topic of innovation in use of statistics.

He will argue that the key element is to create a functional and legal interface between the output of the statistical profession and statistical agencies on one hand and the design and IT entrepreneurs on the other hand. The web page of the statistical agency should be the watermark where one can go to verify that numbers are correct just as bank notes need water marks. The big potential for the application of IT design and techniques from game industry on statistics will, however, be implemented by entrepreneurial profit and non-profit organizations between the agency and the end user.
